Mt. Kilimanjaro - Africa's Roof

Mount Kilimanjaro

I (Fajer) have previously lead this trip and look forward to helping you reach the top! We will be providing you with everything you need from packing tips to a workout schedule. I will be there for every step on this trip from the prepping months before the right to the top of Kilimanjaro!

If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask me at anytime.
You can see all the trip details on our website:

Kilimanjaro at a Glance

At 5,895 meters, Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest free-standing mountain in the world! Don't let this scare you - to the delight of trekkers and hiking enthusiasts worldwide, reaching the summit is not a technical climb; there are no special skills or technical equipment required. Put one determined foot in front of the other for five days, and you can stand proudly on the rooftop of Africa...keep at it for one more day, and you'll be back in your cozy hotel for a hot shower and an ice-cold drink!

A Kilimanjaro climb is unique in that, within the span of a few days, you pass through a wide variety of climates and vegetation zones, from tropical rain forest to near arctic conditions. The top is a crater filled with ice-cliffs - just a little visual bonus if the view out over Africa isn't quite enough! See it while you can: Kilimanjaro is expected to be ice-free by 2035.

We have successfully put 52 out of an attempted 56 people at the top! With training, the right gear, and the assistance of our team, you'll be able to summit as well.

The Marangu Route

The Marangu Route is a classic trek on Mount Kilimanjaro, being the oldest and most established route. Many favour the Marangu route because it is considered the easiest path on the mountain, given its gradual slope. It is also the only route that offers sleeping huts in dormitory-style accommodations. This means warmer, more comfortable nights of sleep without the hassle of tents.

You can climb up Marangu in five days, but we will be adding a day of acclimatization to make the hike easier on the body and more comfortable.

Although it's the easiest route, Marangu should not be taken lightly - having a reasonable fitness level will ensure that you reach the summit. Marangu's drawback is that being the most popular route, it is also the most crowded. That being said, we've timed our trek in February when there are 60% fewer climbers, compared to the high season (June, July, August). Don't worry - the weather in February is still ideal for summiting.

Zanzibar at a Glance

Zanzibar's allure is legendary. One of East Africa's great trading centres, the archipelago has been a crossroads of culture for centuries, a melting pot where Africa, India and Arabia meet. The island is a complete change of pace from Tanzania's mainland - a place where life’s rhythms are set by the monsoon winds and the moon's cycles. Zanzibar's major attraction is the old Stone Town, whitewashed coral-rag houses, quaint shops, bazaars, mosques, courtyards and squares. Let's not forget the stunning white sand beach and magic turquoise waters!

Sauti Za Busara Festival

If you don't know and have never heard African music, you have a chance to plunge into African rhythms at Sauti za Busara. It is a music festival held in Zanzibar every February in the Old Fort (Stone Town). It's considered the largest music event in East Africa. Hundreds of musicians, singers, and other Swahili performers. The program of the festival consists of exclusively African music! Different styles of music are represented at the festival - from taarab legends like Bi Kidude and the Culture Musical Club to homegrown Tanzanian pop and hip-hop.
