Shabbat and Holidays

We meet every Shabbat - usually the 1st and 3rd Saturday morning and the 2nd and 4th Friday evening. We have found that meeting in our homes works best for us. Our services are based on Siddur Eit Ratzon: a prayerbook with full transliteration, gender-neutral translations, commentaries, and meditations "designed for those who seek spirituality and meaning." We always include lots of singing in our services and depending on who is leading the service there will be varying amounts of innovative/ spiritual/ renewal content. All of our services, and most other events, are followed by potluck vegetarian/dairy meals. Once or twice a quarter will be a chanting / meditation Shabbat service and we generally schedule an early, family friendly Friday evening service each quarter.

We meet to celebrate most Jewish Holidays with an erev Yom Tov and/or first day morning service as well as our own special Yizkor services. Our annual retreat for Yom Kippur is the highlight of the year for many members. We go away to a retreat center and everything is prearranged, from the erev yom tov meal to the break-fast the following night. We all contribute in our own way to make the holiday a special spiritual experience.
