This group is for anyone who is suffering from or who has dealt with social anxiety. Come along if you're willing learn from and support other people, practice socializing in a safe environment, make friends or hear from other people going through the same thing as you.
**This group is not a form of professional therapy, rather a casual meetup where members can relate and bounce constructive ideas off each other. If you are in need of such services you are still very welcome but please do not use this group as some substitute of professional services**
At each meetup we chat about our experiences of anxiety and what we're doing or have done to tackle it. This could be like cognitive behavioural therapy, meditation etc, as well as some general chat to get to know each other and build relationships. We can also help each other set goals and hold each other accountable to them. You are welcome to come to this group no matter what you bring to it. Everyone at the group understands what anxiety is like and it's a safe space to come to, whether you want to share anything or not.
For me personally I'm no stranger to social anxiety and no expert on solving it. I've definitely found some successful strategies that will be shared but I'm more interested in hearing what has worked for you. What I'd like is to facilitate an environment where socially anxious people can be social together (I know it's tough but worth a shot) I'm fairly new at hosting meetups so emphasis on casual!
