NOTE: There is a meetup on photography (http://www.meetup.com/East-Troy-Computer-Club/events/167326942/) the day after this one. We're encouraging everyone to try and attend both. Great topics!
We're telling stories tonight... stories of how some of us [club members] have broken systems, rules, and boundaries in the name of access, freedom of information, improvement to quality of life, discovery, and education.
While not all stories shared tonight may be ethical (we are breaking systems after-all) the experiences and lessons taught through them have lead us towards building a foundation of moral values and philosophy that seem to be standard in the hacker and maker communities.
“Kids these days” don't dare do what we did, and rightfully so; there are often major legal consequences for even questioning systems or attempting to test their integrity. This meetup is for them; to encourage younger generations to question, bend, and maybe even break a system.
