As investors, we are offered a lot of opportunities to invest our hard earned money and/or time. Sometimes our investments are financially rewarding and sometimes we have to chalk them up as learning opportunities. Join us this month as Michele Chen with GD Commercial Real Estate walks us through the private equity world and shows us how to evaluate these projects and opportunities to invest. Maybe more importantly, she will show us the top 8 mistakes (aka learning opportunities) to avoid when investing in passive real estate investments. This will be hosted online via Zoom. Michele is a seasoned commercial real estate broker with a background in business management and a focus on real estate development. Currently, Michele heads GD Commercial’s private equity arm as Senior Vice President. Born and raised in Silicon Valley, Michele obtained her B.A. in International Studies and Business Management from the University of California, Irvine and completed her final year of studies at Beijing’s prestigious Peking University. Certified in both tax and insurance, Michele has worked in wealth management, accounting, and business management. She received her MBA from UCI’s Paul Merage School of Business in June 2016, and her emphasis on Commercial and Residential Real Estate has fortified the connections she maintains with leading developers and long-time real estate investors. Michele’s unparalleled client service and proven marketing strategies have made her a strong asset to numerous developers and their multi-million dollar projects around the world. And because Michele understands that investing in real estate properties and/or development projects is a decision that requires utmost trust, she earns it by consistently delivering on her commitments—demonstrating her credibility through her diligent work ethic and comprehensive understanding of the industry. Michele has been published multiple times in Inman News, the leader in real estate industry news and technology, and interviewed for the 2015 National Association of Realtors conference in San Diego for her expertise in foreign national acquisitions in the real estate industry. Now she continues to service her clients in both the Silicon Valley Bay Area, as well as the Orange County arena in Southern California. Michele is a co-founder of Santa Clara County Landlords Mastermind and currently serves as an executive board member on the[masked] Chinese American Real Estate Association (CAREA) Board of Directors. Q & A session and resource sharing at end of each meeting.
