Show Off Your WordPress Site

Have you built a site lately (for yourself or a client) that really kicks a**? Come show the group what you did to push the WordPress envelope.

For example, we just finished the Oakley Chamber of Commerce website, for which we created highly customized member profile pages. (None of the business directory plugins seemed sufficient.)

Email me at sallie [at] eastbaywp [dot] com or fill in a comment with the URL of the site you'd like to demo. We can probably cover 10 sites if we only spend about 5 minutes on each, so you'll need to pick your high points in advance. (If you prepare a summary we can post it on the website.)

Presenters so far:

Stefan Didak: Oakley Chamber of Commerce

Eve Lurie: Loners on Wheels

Antonio Lettieri: Downtown Providence

At Content will be providing FOOD.

Alexey, the CEO of AtContent, will talk about the AtContent plugin for WordPress.

AtContent provides two main things for bloggers:

  1. New readership
  2. Backlinks

It also allows to brand content and control it across the Internet, not just on your site.

Read about other interesting features such as content protection, reposts monetization on the plugin page -

Try this plugin before the meeting and prepare your own questions and get a best feedback directly from Alexey!

Since slides and notes on the site might take a while... anyone who wants to get a PDF with my general notes on how the site was built and what was involved, plugins, etc. Just shoot me an email and I'll just send it to you.

I could post that to the EastBayWP site. Heck, Stefan, I could give you a login and YOU could post it...Unless you don't want it public. ;-)

This was fun . . . especially showing the 'behind the scenes' use of WP features.

I have a windows based website and on the verge of building a new one using WP and some PHP. Looking forward to learning new ideas to incorporate.

Sorry I'll miss Sunday's meeting, but March 17th is a religious holiday for my people.

    Hi Pressers--
I have an idea for a future meeting. I am starting a project using IgnitionDeck, a plugin that turns WP into a Kickstarter-style crowdfunding website. This is huge for nonprofits who need to raise funds without paying a cut of each campaign to a 3rd party. I'd be glad to share my experiences with it once I've had a chance to dig into it a bit. Another topic is that I've been using a Bootstrap-derived WP theme called and have loved the results. I can show off two sites I've developed with it if people are interested.
    Keep 'Pressing On!
