What we're about

Eastbourne is a great place with much to offer. This group is for anyone over 50 who wants to come together for a range of activities, meet new people and have fun. If you like to dance the night away, enjoy great conversations, a good film, meal, walk, theatre outing, arts, crafts and so much more we may be the group for you.

If you enjoy growing old disgracefully, prefer laughter lines to frowning and would like to connect with similar minded people, this is the group for you.

A group is only as successful as its members, so if you have ideas about activities you are interested in, let me know and I will put it out as an event. Experience suggests there is always be someone who would like to join you.

Please read the following:-

If you have agreed to attend and your plans change (it happens to all of us at times), kindly change your RSVP to NO to reflect this. This group is not run as a business and the Organizers spend voluntary admin time researching ideas and reserving places at venues, as well as putting the details on Meetup. It is unfair and discourteous to them to agree to go and then not attend, without notification. Anyone who does this more than three times will be removed from the group.

Please provide a current photo on your profile. This makes it easier for the organizer of an event to recognize you. When you don't, you run the risk of not being spotted.

The Printers Playhouse

A community choir, nothing pompous, no divas. £6 a week. A welcoming bunch who believe performing is fun and fun outweighs everything. The group puts on concerts which have been well received about 2 to 3 times a year. You don't need to read music or do anything pretentious - just turn up and sing your heart out. The songs the choir sings are a mix of all styles and members of the choir get to chose the songs they would like to sing too. Many of our group are already members, so lots of friendly people around. There is a Friday morning choir too, which I have put out. The same choir, just at different times.

Meditation for Detachment from Over - Thinking - Less Stress, More Peace

• What we'll do Weekly Guided Meditation for Detachment from Over-Thinking Meditation is an ancient technique which aligns the body and mind in the present moment. In meditation we allow our inner sense of Presence to rise by simply BE-ing Aware. Meditation supported with a guided enquiry and observation helps you find relief from excessive thinking patterns common to stress, anxiety, and depression. Each Meeting starts with 20 to 30 minutes of Guided Meditation, followed by a short tea break (free) and an audio or video recording of a Non Duality Talk/ Meditation by various Teachers ( Ananta Kranti, Mooji, Eckhart Tolle, Adyashanti, Jeff Foster, Gangaji etc). Each Meeting ends with a 10 to 20 minute silent meditation. Guided Meditations are held on Tuesday Evenings at 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm in Eastbourne. Cost: £10 This is a small and intimate group and places are limited to 9 plus myself. To book your place email: [masked] Please arrive and leave quietly. We encourage everyone not to engage in discussion, social interactions, as it tends to stimulate the mind. Here is a good video to see the Benefits and Scientific Power of Meditation : https://youtu.be/Aw71zanwMnY • What to bring Wear what makes you feel comfortable and happy and if you are one that gets easily chilled – I suggest you also bring a wrap. • About Darshana: Darshana has spent most of the last 25 years on retreats, meditating in the UK, India, USA, identifying and observing mind patterns whilst attending many professional trainings as well as spiritual retreats, metaphysical and mindfulness trainings .
