Each year, since 2014, this community conducted a workshop on “Mindfulness Meditation”, a path to “The Art of Living” and its positive effects on relieving stress. Each of us will work through a self-guided manual, “ The Mindfulness Way Workbook” and meet regularly to share our thoughts and concerns.
In addition, we meet the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month to meditate and discuss approaches, difficulties, and strategies for establishing a continuing practice.
We will continue with Tara Brach, reviewing another portion of her teaching on "Learning to Respond, not React'. She defines three steps necessary to Awaken from the reaction patterns that keep us prisoners. We talked about the first step in the last session: "Don't believe your thoughts". Next week we'll take the second step: "Pause and come back to the present". In this talk Tara is honest about her failures along the way. JOIN US!!! (USE "chrome" search engine to join.)
