But the app stores are crowded, competition is fierce and paid customer acquisition rates keep going up. How can a new mobile app or game attract initial customers, be proven to work as a business, and grow? What kind of budget does it take to "buy your way to the top" of the app stores these days? Are you better served by focusing on one major platform, or trying to support both? In this talk, Mike will share stories, tactics, and statistics from two separate game launches and give you the scoop on what's worth your limited time, energy, and budgets.
About Mike: Since leaving Microsoft in 2006, Mike has worked on nothing but the earliest stage companies in mobile phones, cloud services, and gaming. Now, Mike's the Executive Producer and VP, Marketing for Zipline Games (WTIA's Seed Stage Company of the Year, and GeekWire's Startup of the Year) where he's responsible for producing and managing its studio titles, and marketing the Moai game development platform. Zipline's first two games have already been enjoyed by nearly 3 million people to date, and the Moai Game Development platform is being used by thousands of amazing mobile game developers worldwide.
