"Generations and community, exercising and sharing food together!"
Updated: Nov. 30, 2020
NEWS: PRIVATE GROUP is FOR FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND CURRENT MEMBERS ONLY, at this time. The group is currently NOT accepting new members due to COVID-19 pandemic. Thank you for your interest. In the future, we will meet to workout (trail run/walk/hike/bike) outside and eat together again in-person, when it is safe to do so!
CURRENT OFFERINGS FOR MEMBERS AND FRIENDS: VIRTUAL workouts, yoga, and meditation to practice from the safety of your own home/space, with support and encouragement for your solo/household's outdoor pursuits. We will also meet afterward for a quick tea/coffee break for accountability, consistency, and camaraderie. More events TBA depending on interest!
PURPOSE: To stay healthy throughout the Holidays and pandemic, while doing our civic duty to keep our communities safe and well!
WELCOME TRAIL RUNNING, HIKING, AND WALKING FRIENDS
We’re a small, casual neighborhood group created for friends and family. We do fun and easy runs and brisk walks on dirt trails, grass, snow, and rocks -- and scenic places such as the High Line. We also meet for all-levels cross-training activities like biking, meditation or yoga. Join us to explore the natural beauty and foods of NY. We typically go out for post-exercise coffee, snacks or brunch (optional). Guests of all running abilities, including run-walkers, are always welcome to join for the running/walking/eating!
• High Lineon Tuesdays 7 AM and Sundays (most) at 7:30 AM on the urban trail, followed by coffee/eating out at the Chelsea Market!
• Manhattan is the base, but occasionally we venture out onto other trails (e.g., Prospect Park in Brooklyn, South Mountain Reservation in Essex County, Sleepy Hollow), and post other events of the New York area.
Who We are a small, volunteer-lead, private group, started by a run-walker and friends. We invite friends and family who share that same passion for the trails and food to run with us on a monthly/regular basis. All paces, including experienced trail runners and runners training for their first trail races, are welcome. Please be comfortable running or brisk run-walking at least six miles on trail.
Please note: If you notice few RSVPs, not to worry. We may be a small group, but we still have dedication, enjoy running and plan to be at every meet! (Any meet changes will be posted.)
Private group. Capacity: 50 members (https://www.meetup.com/pricing/) (max.) This group's free events details and membership are available only to members for privacy and safety. Powered by: EAR volunteers. Copyright Eat and Run, for all EAR content.
