What we're about

The Eckhart Tolle Now Spiritual Book Club has been created to bring together a community, who enjoy reading Elkhart Tolle & other Enlightened Literature.

Normally a 2-hour meetup scratches the surface of the in-depth Knowledge contained in these Books. By interacting with all our sense spheres, we will assimilate the wisdom & teachings.

This is also a great opportunity to meet like-minded people and make new friends. We will meet every 3-4 weeks depending on the length of the volume to discuss the book.

Occasionally the Books below will be repeated to benefit New Members & for Old Members to comprehend further realizations.

The Eckhart Tolle Now Spiritual Book Club is very much a collective community where all voices are equally valuable, so please feel free to contribute & share your thoughts.

We are always looking for locations in London that are not so noisy & accessible, so open to suggestions. Everything is subject to change and dependent on how many people are keen to commit.

Please note - if you can't attend a meetup please cancel your RSVP.

Look forward to hearing from you

Visit to Buddhapadipa Temple - Saturday 28 May 2022, Wimbledon, London

Needs a location

Dear Friends,

On Saturday 28 May I have organised a special event for you - a guided tour of the Buddhist temple in Wimbledon! The Buddhapadipa Temple is a Thai Buddhist temple and was the first of its type to be built in the UK.

There will only be seven spaces available for this event so if you are interested in attending I would recommend RSVP’ing as soon as possible. The guided tour will last approximately one hour and after that there will be an opportunity for quiet contemplation on your own.

The insides of the temple include mural paintings of the Buddha’s life, including his birth, renunciation, enlightenment, and death. There is a room with a great shrine built for the Buddha with three statues. Also within the grounds are a house, pond, and several bridges. In the gardens signs are posted, each sign giving a message of wisdom to those who stop to read them.

  • This is a free event but the temple would appreciate a donation from attendees if you are in a financial position to do so. This can be made in cash on the day.
  • As spaces are limited please ensure that you cancel your RSVP if you are subsequently unable to attend as this will free up your space for someone else to attend.
  • The temple has a dress code as specified below:

Discrete clothing is acceptable, top-tanks, mini-skirts or shorts are considered inappropriate.

  • When entering the main temple and house we must remove our shoes as a sign of respect and as an act of practical cleanliness.

Schedule for the day:

12pm – 12.30pm – Arrival time at temple
12.30pm – 1.30pm – Guided tour
1.30pm – 2.30pm – Quiet contemplation
2.30pm – 3.30pm – Lunch/tea/coffee at nearby café

I look forward to seeing you for what should be a very interesting, relaxing and enjoyable day. If you have any questions in the meantime
feel free to message me via Meetup.

Best Wishes,

Eckhart Tolle 'A New Earth' book club, Wednesday 8 June 2022, Islington, London

**Note: Due to an unforeseen issue with the venue this event has been postponed from its original date of Friday 27 May to the new date of Wednesday 8 June**

Dear Friends,

In this session we will continue listening to an audio of Eckhart’s beautiful and profound book ‘A New Earth’. If you are more familiar with ‘The Power of Now’ we would suggest also reading ‘A New Earth’ as in this book Eckhart explores in more depth some of the key teachings from ‘The Power of Now’ as well as discussing new topics. However, there is no obligation to have read ‘A New Earth’ in order to attend.

In this session we will continue listening to chapter 3 of 'A New Earth', 'The Core of Ego'. If there are any specific passages of chapter 3 that you would like us to cover please let me know either before or at the start of the event.

We will be meeting at the Tara Yoga Centre in Islington (EC1V 3QW) at 6.30pm on Wednesday 9 March. Please report to reception on arrival and they will direct you to the room.

** Spaces for this event are limited due to the size of the room. Any RSVPs beyond the limit will be placed on a waiting list. It is therefore very important that if you are unable to attend you change your RSVP to 'No' so that your space can be freed up for another group member **

6:30pm to 7:00pm: Arrival time
7:00pm: Meditation
7:10pm: Introduction followed by instructions.
7:15pm: Meetup begins and we will start listening to Chapter 3 of ‘A New Earth’ and there will be opportunities for discussion.
9:00pm: Meetup Ends - Optional socialising

*Free Event. However, if you are in a financial position to do so a small cash contribution is kindly requested to help cover the cost of the room. Any donations received above this will be donated to Hillside Animal Sanctuary via our GoFundMe page https://www.gofundme.com/f/eckhart-january-2020

It can be deeply rewarding to be part of the Group Collective to donate to a worthy cause, and then to be told of the amount raised is so gratifying! The knowledge that you’re helping other beings is hugely empowering and, in turn, can make you feel happier and more fulfilled. Entirely your decision to donate and based on the Universal Laws of Life. All money goes directly to Hillside, this is non-profit. Please watch the Story of Hillside Animal sanctuary: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zaneg1vw0Ko ***

We ask all attending members to stay for the full 2-hour INTERACTIVE BOOK CLUB.

• What to bring:
Ideally bring a copy of the book, 'A New Earth', or listen along!

For the sake of clarity :-), These meetups point to Eckhart Tolle's teachings. It is not a meeting with Eckhart Tolle himself. WE ARE NOT PSYCHOLOGISTS OR PROFESSIONALS, as such, the discussion is informal and no-one can be held accountable. It is a co-created group.
Living in the now is the truest path to happiness and enlightenment. And while this message may not seem stunningly original or fresh, Tolle's clear writing, supportive voice and enthusiasm make this an excellent manual for everyone!

'Stillness Speaks' Walk - East London - Sunday 12 June 2022

Needs a location

Dear Friends,

On Sunday 12 June I will be organising another 'Stillness Speaks' walk along a quiet and relaxing route within the East London/Essex area. We have done several of these walks over the last two years and group members found that Eckhart's teachings of stillness and space are felt more deeply when in nature.

The walk will start at 12pm in a location in East London and we will then walk back towards the city via a scenic route. The walk will be approximately seven miles. However, we will be taking plenty of breaks along the way in addition to a meditation at the beginning.

We will be listening to ‘Stillness Speaks’ throughout the walk so it will be necessary to download an MP3 of the book from Amazon (this is available for free with a trial of Audible) and a pair of headphones so you can listen to it on your mobile.

If anyone is interested in joining the walk please RSVP through Meetup. Attendance will require a £10 charitable donation for Hillside Animal Sanctuary and details will follow as to how this donation can be made.

It will also be necessary to bring a packed lunch, plenty of water and clothing suitable for the weather. We are planning a fun and relaxing day out in nature and it would be great to see you.

If you have any questions do let us know.

All the best,
