Meet for our Discussion Group, led by Robert (Sunday 2 PM)

Awareness of Being,

An Open Heart,

These are topics of the ages.  For thousands of years, human beings have been drawn to understand their meanings.  Stirrings of enlightenment, followed by periods of relative darkness.  Again and again.  Our shared spiritual history seems a quiet reverberation of light and dark.

Who am I?

Why am I here?

What is the meaning of my life?

What happens when I die?

These are the questions of the ages.  All questions have answers.  Consider that the answers to these questions may be very real of course, but might not be representable by any combination of words.  Words and language represent our thoughts.  Our true selves, our true awareness, our true nature, is not thought itself but "that by which the mind can think".  Perhaps, then, the answers to these questions (we could call these answers "the truth") can be known to us in a way which is beyond language and beyond thought.

In spite of the fact that language is ultimately insufficient to describe these truths, it is still ok to talk about it (as of course we will!).  That is, as long as we remember that our words (and thoughts) are pointers to the truth and not the truth itself.

Hmmm. That's a lot to think about - LOL.

I do look forward to sharing time with you next Sunday.  Remember, we are starting a little earlier at 2 PM.

Love offerings are gratefully accepted.

I always have coffee, hot tea, and sparkletts water at the office.

Today's discussion was particularly enjoyable and thought provoking because it touched upon issues I'm encountering right now.
