EcoHome Lab: Monthly meetup and skill share
Details
November's Exciting Agenda!!!
More low cost energy monitor building! For those who have already finished their monitors we will move on to a tutorial for setting up with emoncms.org and show you around the different features. This is also a good opportunity to troubleshoot any problems you might be having with monitoring hardware/software past or present. We will play it by ear! A talk from Carlos on the recently released MyHomeEnegyPlanner website which helps you to do a detailed assessment of your homes energy performance. Carlos will give a brief tutorial to get you started. We are still looking for feedback so everyone's homework this month will be to assess their own house and do a show and tell at the next ecohomelab! As always we will head to the pub afterwards at about 9 for a quiet civilised drink. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now in our regular monthly slot - every second Thursday of the month at MadLab (https://madlab.org.uk/). A hangout for people taking control of their home energy usage and generation. We use open-source hardware and software to gain a better understanding of energy in our homes, how to make the best use of the energy we generate and reduce energy wasted.
This is a CarbonCo-op (http://carbon.coop/) initiative working close together with OpenEnergyMonitor (https://openenergymonitor.org).

• Taking the power back! - Making better use of the surplus power we generate
Who is it for?
• Anyone with skills in physical electronics, web development or programming who wants to use that knowledge to reduce energy and carbon!
• There will be open space for small groups to focus on adding new sensors or hacking the user interface, there will always be a 'newbies' group for people interested in finding out more.
