What does "conservation photography" mean to you?

For me, "conservation photography" means that I use my camera to document and communicate the beauties and wonders of the natural world, draw attention to the impacts of human activities, and chronicle efforts to protect and restore native ecosystems.

What is your favorite subject matter?

I often look for the surprise small aspects of a place, such as the fungus breaking through redwood needles. I record the people and techniques of native habitat restoration projects on which I volunteer. I look for the natural cycles of life and water.

What camera do you currently use?

Nikon D-200

Hi, I'm an amateur photographer. I live in San Francisco and want to improve my skills with practice and exposure to folks who are also interested in conservation photography.
