Coming up: Lynn Gaffney, Chuck Durrett, and Courtney Martin

Join us in May when NYC architect Lynn Gaffney will share her thoughts on the what, where, when, why and how cohousing communities are being built across the country!

Saturday, May 18 ... 2:30pm to 6:30pm

Location: Princeton Integral Yoga Community Center
301 N. Harrison Street, Bldg A, Suite 1E, Princeton, NJ 08540

Imagine a neighborhood that:
. Values social connection above all else.
. Invites an environmentally responsible lifestyle within custom “green” buildings.
. Consists of private homes connected to dynamic common spaces.
. Provides places for kids of all ages to play together.
. Offers an opportunity to age-in-place with supportive neighbors who know and care for you.
. Features design that promotes spontaneous interaction while respecting your need for solitude.

This is cohousing . . . and Lynn Gaffney has committed to the movement via her new endeavor, the Cohousing Opportunities Group. As an architect, a LEED-accredited AP, and a certified Passive House designer, Lynn has over 20 years of experience in residential, commercial and institutional service projects and looks forward to adding cohousing developments to that list. She's been part of the 500 Communities Program, a select group of professionals being trained by renowned cohousing architect and developer, Kathryn McCamant.

Also, on May 18 we'll preview our June 5 workshop: "Making it Real." It will be led by Chuck Durrett, co-founder (with Kathryn McCamant) of Cohousing Solutions, a California-based architectural firm that has developed over fifty communities in the US. At the workshop, we'll learn about:
. Site planning and development
. Choosing professionals and navigating government approvals
. Community building, funding, and governance
. Financing and budgeting strategies (that work!)

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 5 ... 9am to 5pm
HYATT REGENCY HOTEL ... 2 Albany St, New Brunswick, NJ 08901

And keep in mind that there's still time to register for the 2019 National Cohousing Conference, "Community for the Health of It," being held May 30 to June 2 in Portland, OR:

Learn how living in community can be healthier by combating loneliness. Whether you’re just starting to explore living in cohousing or have been for decades, this conference offers something for you. The keynote speaker will be Courtney Martin, author of "The New Better Off: Reinventing the American Dream" in which she explores how people are redefining the American dream (think: more fulfillment, community, and fun; less debt, status, and stuff).
