Slack Channel - https://aka.ms/JoinAzComm
This month we'll be joined by two of the Microsoft Cloud Advocate team who bring a wealth of experience in cloud. Make sure you come prepared with questions for them during the round table session! Most challenging questions get prizes!
Chris Noring is a Senior Cloud Developer Expert with Microsoft, Google Developer Expert and published author. Chris is going to talk about the Azure SignalR service. SignalR offers us a protocol to give our app real-time capabilities. Why not do Web Sockets then? SignalR works as a framework on top that uses Web Sockets if it can but if the browser lacks the capability it falls back to Polling. You as a user shouldn't have to care. With the new Azure SignalR Service, we get something even better. The SignalR we know but this time connections and scaling is handled for us and it's cheap because it uses Serverless. Learn how to build an app using: Azure SignalR Service, Serverless and a client.
Dean Bryen is a Principal Cloud Security Advocate @ Microsoft. Dean is going to talk about Azure Sentinel. Traditional Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) products are failing to protect today's infrastructure from the volume and speed of threats and spend too much time and money in tasks like set up and maintenance. Azure Sentinel is a first of it's kind. A cloud native SIEM and Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR) product that empowers defenders to be more secure and more productive. This session provides an overview of Azure Sentinel and how to get started in your SOC, collect data across all sources, detect threats, and reduce alerts.
