IMPORTANT NOTES; This is my first attempt at an in-person session since earlier this year. It will only run if there is sufficient interest, 5 or more. Some common sense guidelines need to be followed: COVID: - As part of regulations we have to keep track of who attends so please only RSVP if you are joining us. DO NOT turn up to the session if you haven't RSVP'd - If you are showing any symptoms of COVID or have just returned from a country on the quarantine list, please stay at home until your self isolation period has ended I am running this session in accordance with Jog Scotland, please read the section - "Some key points for adult jogging groups:" https://jogscotland.org.uk/home/covid-19/ ======================================================== All of the preliminaries out of the way... Meeting at the Pavillion in the Meadows. This is a session to improve speed and stamina for runners. Not for absolute beginners but if you can run 5K in less than 35 minutes you will be fine. City Steps (5 step locations) We’ll take an easy pace to each location then do single ascents for three of the step locations and intervals at the other two. Adjust the intensity of each climb to your fitness level. We’ll wait for everyone to regroup and take a breather before moving on. Total time for this sessions should be under 60 mins.. *** Reminder re head torches ** As we will be running in the dark for the winter months, please make sure you bring a head torch (you may be able to run with someone who has a torch but best to have your own). Also remember to wear bright reflective clothing so we are visible to other road users when running on the footpaths. Please be on time as we don't want to keep the group waiting in the cold or rain! We will wait 5mins after the meeting time before heading off All the best, T... :-) ======================================================== IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: We are a group of recreational runners that get together for social runs around Edinburgh. We are not a professional running group. Any run that you participate in you do so at your own risk. It is up to the individual to assess their ability to participate in the run. We advise that participants dress suitably; wear proper running shoes and gear, and in poor light we recommend the use of High Viz Clothing. We take no responsibility for personal injuries or new or existing medical conditions that may be aggravated by running. If you are new to running or exercise in general we recommend consulting your physician before joining us for these sessions. We are not responsible for property lost during runs.
