What we're about

Let's meet and run! We are a group of running enthusiasts who like to face the elements and explore the beautiful Edinburgh region in our running shoes. We meet for runs of different levels - some of us are training for marathons, some of us just like to jog and socialise, others come for a brief run around the meadows to relax after work. If we find that the group includes runners of very different levels, we usually split, with some choosing a faster rhythm. We aim to meet several times a week, using different trails with shorter/longer distances to please everyone. Everyone can join or organise a run.

Haymarket to Corstorphine evening run

Haymarket Station

This run will be from Haymarket station to the top of Kaimes Road in Corstorphine on Mondays. Routes vary from week to week and are stitched together using a mixture of the various on-road and off-road cycle and walking paths in the area - Cycle Routes 1 & 8, Water of Leith path, John Muir Way, Ravelston Park, Corstorphine Hill. Distance is 4-6km and we will run together as a group going at the pace of the slowest runner. The evenings are dark so you will need a head torch for some of the unlit sections. Meeting point is just past the main entrance to Haymarket Station outside Marks and Spencer, at the traffic lights which cross the tram tracks. Please update your RSVP if you change your mind. RSVP's close at 4pm on the day of the run.

• What we'll do This is our weekly beginner friendly run around the meadows park, typically we have a mixed group of 5 to 10 people attending. We make sure that everyone has company on the run and we can shorten or walk parts of the run the route for new folks. The full distance is 2.8 miles and it normally takes us about 25 min of running, some of the group will hold a 9min mile pace for those of you who are training for a half marathon type event and this run together with our Saturday run will get you round a half marathon sub 2 hours after a few months.
