How to Design Anything (Chloe Sanderson)
"If you can design one thing, you can design everything" - Massimo Vignelli

From planning your day to crafting the perfect email, we are designing every time we make intentional choices towards a desired outcome. In this talk, Chloe will give examples of how we can use design methods and principles to solve a wide variety of problems, big and small, in our work and everyday lives.

Chloe is a Senior Product Designer at UserTesting, where she designs software that helps the world's biggest companies to understand their customers and build better products. She loves using design to solve messy, complex problems and applying design thinking to non-traditional design problems.

Hug your stakeholders, do more for the users (Joseph Emmi)
Working in an organisation where UX is not highly regarded or simply does not exist, it's not only challenging but continues to be prevalent despite the increased maturity, popularity and recognition of the discipline over the last few years. It's also a reality many have to navigate, whether they are seasoned professionals or just starting in the field.

In this talk, I’ll be sharing real stories that illustrate the challenges I faced, as well as the lessons learned over the last 6+ years of working with organisations with low levels of UX maturity. How I was able to embed UX into my projects and teams; ultimately bringing the users into the picture and helping stakeholders gain awareness.

Joseph focuses on the intersection of design, technology, and business. He is passionate about human behaviour, the societal impact of technology and great experiences. Originally from Venezuela, Joseph has been living in Scotland for almost a decade, working with public and private sector organisations, as well as digital agencies and startups. He currently works at The Weir Group as a UX Designer and Product Manager.

Volunteering as a Designer with the Scottish Tech Army (Paul Coffield)
Paul has been working within development teams for the last 12 years or so now. Starting as a web designer/developer he began by creating interfaces and working to make them usable and accessible. In the past 5 years he's reverted back to his (UX) design roots a bit more and currently merges both design and development in his role as an interaction designer with the Cabinet Office.
