What we're about

Women in Technology is a community for women in technology of all levels and in all disciplines. We strive to build a strong community for women working in the industry and provide the opportunity to connect and share our experiences.

We aim to organise a Meetup on a monthly basis and we will cover a range of technical and non technical topics. It is important to us that Women in Technology represents all women in the Tech industry covering a variety of topics including: Cloud and Mobile Computing, Data Analytics, FinTech, New Tech, E-Commerce, Open Source.

Currently looking at holding the meetup in the evening but happy to mix this up - breakfast, lunch, evening - in order to give everyone an opportunity to attend. There will be 2/3 talks at each meetup where of course, beer and pizza will be provided.

It is also a chance for likeminded people to connect and plenty opportunities for you to learn something new.

How to get involved?

We are always looking for suggestions & feedback to build a community that appeals to everyone involved. Also if you would like to speak at one of our events or be a sponsor/host we'd be delighted to hear from you!

Women & Gaming

Google Digital Garage, Scotland

Hi All, We’re excited to announce our first Edinburgh Women in Technology Meetup for 2019: Women & Gaming. After reviewing the suggestions from our last event, there were quite a few requests for industry spotlights & networking opportunities and so we have brought these together with a ‘gaming’ theme. We have a couple of super interesting speakers and a networking game lined up so please join us for a night of fun and fascinating conversation! Please note: this is very much not just for women in gaming, the talks have been designed to give you a flavour of the different areas / roles within the industry, whilst also giving some insight on the relatable challenges of working in an even more male dominated environment than other technology jobs. A massive thank you to Google Garage for hosting the event, Cloudreach for sponsoring (free food and free drinks for everyone!) and finally to our amazing speakers!
