TAS 100 - Ride a century!

Please RSVP only if you intend to come and put the date in your diary so you don't forget! We have had a lot of no-shows and last minute cancellations, meaning that other Belles can't ride.

Date & time: Sat 15 July 2017, ready to leave at 9:00

Distance & climbing: approx. 115km, undulating, 700-800m of climbing (details tbc after recce)

Surface/tyres: rough/off-road wherever possible (gravel, whin paths, grass), linked by quiet on-road sections - no skinny tyres please, ideally MTB; not technically difficult

** This ride will not be technically difficult but as it is on mixed surfaces it will present more of a challenge than a road ride. Please consider whether you will manage the whole ride before signing up.**

Join us as we ride alongside women across the UK, meeting The Adventure Syndicate's challenge to ride a century (>100km), as part of the Women's Festival of Cycling. Our plan is to leave from Fisherrow, Musselburgh and ride a mixed-surface route through East Lothian, largely off-road with links on quiet roads.

The route is undulating and covers about 700-800m of climbing over ca. 115 km distance. We'll stop for food at two of East Lothian's cycle friendly cafes along the way, where we can also top up drinks bottles.

Please bring along snacks and a couple of spare inner tubes that fit your tyres.

The ride will go at the pace of the group, and nobody will be left behind, so it won't be superfast. If you cycle regularly and have ridden at least one 70km day ride during the last couple of months, you should be fine!

As this route covers mixed surfaces we recommend only MTB or cyclocross tyres. No slick or skinny tyres please.

• Spare inner tube
• Water
• Money for lunch
• Snacks for the ride
• Waterproofs and layers

Please check meet up on the morning of the ride in case it needs to be cancelled or amended due to weather or road conditions.

For the safety and enjoyment of the whole group we reserve the right to remove riders who we think aren't ready for this type of challenge yet.
