    What we're about

The Edmonton New in Town Cocktail Club is for women in their 20s and 30s who are new(ish) to Edmonton, or wanting to connect with women who are new(ish) to the city.

The group was created to help women build a social network in a place that can encourage hibernation 6 months of the year. Some members are new to Edmonton. Others have been here for some time and want to expand their social network and welcome new women to the city.

We go to festivals, shows and cultural events around the city, try out new or well-known restaurants and bars, and build long-lasting friendships in the process.

ALL MEMBERS' profiles must include a clear profile picture and at least their first name. We often have to pick people out of a crowd and it helps to know who we’re looking for!

ALL MEMBERS must visit the meetup page once every 4-6 months to be considered an active member. Non-active members may be removed from the group in order to avoid spamming them each time a meetup is announced, but are more than welcome to join again when they have time.

RSVP POLICY: Members must RSVP for events prior to showing up at events. Members who habitually RSVP "Yes" to events then fail to show up, or who frequently change their RSVP status to "No" less than 24 hours before the meetup starts will be warned, and then removed from the group.

FEES: This meetup group does not currently charge fees to its members. Members are expected to cover their own costs at restaurants, shows, etc. If an event requires pre-purchase of tickets, the event host may request attendees to pre-pay via PayPal or another method to secure a spot. Event organizers also have the option to require attendees to pre-pay a portion of an event fee in order to secure a spot, and to not refund that portion if the attendee cancels her attendance with short notice.
