The NYC EA group + guests will be heading for a day trip to http://stormking.org/ , the unique massive "sculpture park" an hour north of NYC on the Hudson. Many of us have never been and it seems like a fine setting for thoughtful discussion! There's a bus from Port Authority ( https://web.coachusa.com/rockland/booking.asp?action=ProductDetail&productId=8457 : $47 return including the $18 admission, minus student/NGO discount), or some will be driving up. Either way we'll be leaving NYC ~10 am, back by ~6:15.

More details:

  1. All are welcome!
  2. You must arrange your own transportation, bus or car or other. Clicking "Going" doesn't get you a bus ticket - buy yours now! (Coach USA link above)
  3. (...However, if you're interested in the student/NGO discount, contact Jacob Eliosoff or Avi Norowitz before buying)
  4. Meeting places:
  • Those buying their bus tickets same-day: get to Port Authority by 9:15 am. We're entering peak foliage season and the station gets busy.
  • Everyone taking the bus: 9:40 am, Port Authority, ShortLine bus gates, 401-409 on the 4th floor (the ShortLine site says 3rd, I think they're wrong). This is at the south end of Port Authority: enter near 40th St. (There's only one bus, it leaves at 10 sharp, the subway sucks on the weekend... Arrive early!)
  • Everyone: 11:30 am, near the ShortLine bus stop in the parking lot. See the map below, or follow the red dot at https://goo.gl/sxXhdb .
  1. Good idea to bring lunch/snacks. There's a Storm King cafe ( http://stormking.org/visit/storm-king-cafe/ ) but...
  2. We have no fixed plans once we get there. I'm told seeing everything in a day is not doable. By default we'll wander around, either as one big group or in smaller groups.
  3. Handy map of the Storm King grounds:
