What we're about
Effective Altruism is applying evidence, reason and rationality to the goal of making the world a better place.
Examples: giving to the most cost-effective charities, volunteering with the most high impact organisations, thinking critically about what causes to support, choosing a career in a way that maximizes impact.
Effective Altruism London is a group that meets up every month or so to discuss effective altruism, to spend time in each others company, to meet friends both old and new, to engage in conversation both intellectual and mundane and to consider what are the best ways for us to play a part in making the world a better place.
Examples of things we have done in the past include: Drinks in the pub, vegan food, meeting the directors of top charities, singing songs, spinning in circles and accidentally meeting film stars.
We are very welcoming so turn up even if you do not know anyone or have never been before. And bring along any friends too. :-)
