Emacs co-maintainer John Wiegley will present one of his favorite tools, Magit (https://magit.vc/), a powerful front end to git that runs as a major mode inside Emacs. Do you find yourself going to a terminal window to run git commands? Your productivity is going to get a nice boost from Magit.

Though this talk is billed as an introduction, even those already familiar with Magit are likely to benefit.

IMPORTANT UPDATE:

  1. The location has changed.

  2. The new location (599 Castro) is just a block away from the old location and still close enough to the Caltrain station.

  3. PLEASE reach by 6.20 PM at the latest so that we can get settled in and get started. :-)

  4. Once you reach, please give us a call at either (+1-408-SixFourSix-6430) or (+1-347-FiveFiveThree-9205) because someone will have to let you in.

  5. If for some reason you are getting delayed, don't worry, we will have the video of this talk available too.

  6. This is a new building and hence there is no reception desk, no digital sign-in (hence, we will have to fill in a hard-copy of the standard company sign-in NDA).
