ONLINE: Emerson's articles on Solitude and Illusions
Details
This is the monthly meeting for the Emerson-Thoreau Discussion Group (E&T). It's on First Thursdays and it's online.
This month, we will review 2 of Emerson's articles published in 1857: "Solitude and Society" (Dec. 1857) and "Illusions" (Nov. 1857). Both were published in The Atlantic Magazine. Did you know that he was one of the founders of this publication? We hope you can join us and bring a friend.
Reading Material
As usual, I'll prepare an outline of discussion points, so you don't have to read or watch in advance.

Our group enjoys open-minded, respectful conversations on philosophy and how it relates to science, culture, other belief systems, and even pop culture (books and movies). Sometimes "we agree to disagree", but the long-term goal is to improve our minds via group discussions.
This meeting is free and open to the public.
