As moms and dads, we all devoted our lives to raising lovely little birds who have now flown into the big world. What now? We have complete freedom to cook whatever we want for dinner, eat out several nights in a row, enjoy happy hour, stay out past 8:00, eat cake w/ coffee for breakfast (we no longer have to model great behavior), stay in bed all day Saturday and watch Netflix movies, take a weekend bike ride trip, etc.

As fun as all this has been, it's still a huge change and this can sometimes create a sense of depression, lack of focus, and unclear meaning in our new lives.

Let's support one another, ask questions, and enjoy outings with other people who get it when we randomly observe, "I used to shop here with my daughter", or "I should have tried harder to make that homemade Halloween costume my son wanted so badly".

This freedom is great, but we are in a transition. Work life is likely great, personal relationships are fine, and we all have great circles of friends, but let's expand our circle to include others who simply get us. Let's do fun things around SB and expand our events as we all see fit.

This group is open to anyone (male or female) who has a child/children who has flown the coop.

Please suggest future meetups by emailing me. I would like us to focus on Santa Barbara events that have a diverse cultural flavor while also doing things that spoil us. We deserve it after 18 years+ of putting in hard work to create lovely little humans!
