Meet and Greet - Our First Introductory Meeting

Details

Hey Guys and Gals. Finally I have waken up.

Actually, I did not wake up myself, someone woke me up with a loud noice near my ear-drums.

In any case, even though this group has been in existence for over a year now, we never planned anything so far. The reason being I am always swamped with 100 different things at any given moment (yeah, I know; you are murmuring, "no you are just lazy!". My answer to that is: "No Comments").

But I am glad that somoene finally pounded on my table and said he was going to do something about it. And, in fact for this first meeting all credit goes to him. I will introduce this amazingly active and initiative taking man, when we finally get together.

So without further ado, this is what is planned:

WHAT: Meet and Greet - A chance to get to know fellow designers and discuss future ideas for meetups (these will be written down so they aren't forgotten at the end of the night!).

WHEN: Evening of Wednesday March 31st. Though we would love to see you promptly at 6:30 p.m. but we will still share our desserts with you, even if you show up as late as 8:00 p.m.

WHERE: Dave & Buster's, 120 Interchange Way, Concord, Vaughan, ON L4K 5C3. Phone: (905) 760-7600‎, Ask at the front desk (to the right when you first enter) where the Engineering Designers are meeting. If you need a ride or can give someone a ride, post a message, or let me know diretly.

RSVP: It would be nice to know in advance, who is coming so that the people at the restaurant can give us an appropriate location, decide on number of chairs and the propoer size of table etc. So, please RSVP if you can. (But if you can not, we will still tuck you in).

ENTRY FEES: $5.00 at the door/table (Bring change, we do not accept $50 and $100 bills, ha ha ha).

FOOD: Burgers/Steak/Pasta/Seafood. Socialize, and eat or snack or drink whatever you want on your own. Menu prices range from $10 - $25.

Addendum:

Note: I thought people already knew it. But since someone asked and posted a note, I am going to clarify this.
Meetup Groups are NOT FREE. Meetup organisation (www.meetup.com) charges its organisers an annual fee. This can be paid annually or semi-annually. The total cost comes to about $150 a year. Becuase, the purpose of the group is to all have the same fun and same advantage in networking, the organisers most often try to recover this cost instead of paying it from his/her pocket alone, by charging a very nominal amount. I assumed if we charge everyone $5.00 only for the first attendance, then with about 30 people attending, it should cover my cost. If many more people join then the cost comes down to even less than $5.00. If it so happens that we have many more members and I have gathered a surplus than what I have spent, I would spend it back for the group to buy them coffee or drinks or whatever. Hope this clear things up.
