Is this workshop for you?

Newcomer track: Discover The Enneagram. It shows us 9 different ways of being in the world, nine ways we shine, nine ways we limit ourselves from being in good connection with ourselves, with others and with Spirit. With Enneagram map in hand we have an extraordinary resource for navigating life. In personality, in relationship, with soul and spirit, The Enneagram seems simple but touches many layers.

Returner track: Revisit the Enneagram. This is a practice that continues to help us “stay awake” (in Gurdjieff’s terms), stay conscious and deepen our understanding. We change, the world is changing. As we come afresh to the material – after a few days, weeks, months or years – so new insights arise. We’ll be providing focused support to help you with your individual, on-going inquiry.

For Everyone: Your inquiry may be practical: seeking change or movement in a relationship, or another aspect of your life that’s calling for change. Or you may be looking for personal or spiritual growth, seeking changes at a deeper level and with stronger connection to Spirit. Gurdjieff famously taught that we meet the Enneagram where we’re at and offers the response we’re able to hear. Our experience is that it’s possible to open a space for exactly this.

The presence of two facilitators means we can offer this twin-track approach and support rich learning for returners and newcomers, while benefitting from mutual learning across the group as a whole. You’ll be able to bring the issues, hopes, dreams – whatever you are meeting personally - and work with it, supported by the sacred circle of Enneagram work and a well-held group process.

We’ll learn together in conversation, small group work and mini-lectures combined with the dynamic and embodied experience of using an Enneagram mat. Relaxing into shared stories, laughter and music will also play its part.

You'll be able to tap into vital resources for life and your personal spiritual journey in what are, personally and collectively, extraordinarily challenging times. More is being demanded of us – more is called for. Whatever our individual path, in the Enneagram we have a uniquely personal and dynamic route-map to help us on our way.

Join us for a relaxed and exploratory weekend for really engaging with the material, yourself and others on a spiritual path, faith-based or otherwise. Immersing yourself in the 9 essence qualities is a delicious and enriching experience. You’ll also find practices, or re-member some you already know and love, that bring them closer, so these qualities are more freely accessible in daily life.

Over the weekend, in the company of a small group, we will gently:

• Enjoy exploring the 9 Essential Qualities in theory and in living practice
• Take time to experience more deeply the particular Qualities of our own EnneaPoint
• Appreciate how our Essence qualities (Enneagram-defined) already colour our experience: they shine in us and in each other
• Draw on a range of modalities to create space for in-the-moment, lived experience of essential qualities: music, meditation, breathwork, journeying, somatic movement and more.
• Identify practices to help anchor the experience of Essence and open to it in daily life
• Sense the shift in consciousness and presence that begins to happen as we open to our Enneagram-defined Essence Qualities.
• Open to the truer self within us, breathing with more freedom and ease
• Enjoy the space Ammerdown offers for peace, reflection and integration

A Soul Quality is identified with each of the Enneagram’s 9 points, defined as a quality of Being and of Essence. This takes us to a soul centred place beyond limited notions of self and familiar identity constructs. A place where we feel closer to Universal Presence, Source, Spirit and the life force in all things. We’re part of a wider field of consciousness where we are in Spirit and Spirit is within us: the individual self merges with the extensive ‘Is-ness’ of all life, in peaceful and expansive ease. It’s an extraordinary, golden place where healing is possible and well-being returns.

The Enneagram’s Holy Ideas and Holy Virtues are dimensions of this wider universal field, defining essential spiritual or divine qualities as found in all the world’s religious and spiritual traditions.

Exploring all 9 qualities can be a rich, beautiful and uplifting experience. Exploring the Essence quality of our own EnneaPoint helps us sink into deeper connection with who we truly are. It may be inspiring and uplifting, a catalyst to change in self-perception and consciousness. And over time, we have more access to these qualities: it’s not just in rare moments of prayer or meditation but becomes a familiar experience in daily life. Everything in our experience shifts.
