Lunch and Learn - Designing Games: Why? What? And How?

Marcia Burrows, The Logical Woman, has been designing games for over 40 years. She’ll discuss her work and why you might want to design a game, what makes a good game, and how to get started. As a former math teacher, Marcia Burrows started her computer programming career by designing a game published by CBS Software in 1983. Since then, she’s created many more games and all sorts of code in several computer languages.

In 2014 / 2015 / 2016 she participated in and eventually served as Community TA for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s edX MITx MOOCs “Introduction to Game Design” and “Design and Development of Games for Learning”. In the past year, she has completed and published two new projects, one online game and one board game.
