What we're about

This is the Meetup group of Esperanto-Toronto, and is open to anyone interested in the Esperanto movement, or in learning Esperanto, in our city. We welcome members at all levels of Esperanto proficiency, and beginners are encouraged to join.

Esperanto Conversation for Beginners

Station Cafe and Kitchen

http://www.stationcafe.ca/ Please RSVP if you plan to attend. If you find later that you can't make it, that's OK (but please update your RSVP if possible). We prefer to ensure we have enough fluent Esperantists in attendance for a beneficial experience for the beginners. (If nobody other than the host has RSVP'd "yes" 24 hours in advance of the Meetup, the host reserves the right to cancel. Your RSVP given well in advance, whether "yes" or "no", is important in the Meetup system.) Look for a small Esperanto flag on the table. This is an informal drop-in, so no need to worry about being on time. Feel free to invite any friends who may be interested. The goal is to make beginners feel comfortable speaking Esperanto. If you're a fluent Esperantist and would like to help out, we encourage you to come. We ask that those of you who are fluent speak slowly and clearly in Esperanto. Beginners are encouraged to speak Esperanto but should feel free to use English (or another national language, depending on who is in attendance) if they feel stuck. Note: The meeting is not a classroom-type instruction of Esperanto but for those who are learning independently using books and/or Internet courses. The meeting is meant to complement self-study by giving learners the chance to speak and listen to Esperanto in real life. Socia kunveno

Aroma Espresso Bar

English below Ni kunvenas unufoje monate por trinki kafon kaj ĝui konversacion en Esperanto pri io ajn. We meet once a month to drink coffee and enjoy conversation in Esperanto about anything. At 7:30 some of us go to one of the nearby reastaurants to eat and continue the conversations. If you are visiting us from out of town and can’t make one of these meetings, please send an email to esperanto.toronto(at)gmail.com so that we can change the date of one meeting or add another one in order to accommodate you.
