Esports NYC is proud to partner with the flagship Microsoft Store in NYC to invite anyone to our monthly Women in Gaming Seminars! Join us for the latest Women in Gaming panel, as we host a powerhouse trio of female eSports executives. Representing Andbox, an eSports entertainment and media company are Collette Gangemi, Head of Merchandising and Consumer products, and Kai Matheyand Head of Partnerships. Lori Bajorek, the president of the National eSports Association (NEA), and content creator / Host In Residency at Cheddar Esports Jennifer “Narz” Vargas, will moderate. Together, they will discuss the business side of eSports, as it looks to top $1Billion in revenue, increasing in popularity on a daily basis. They will provide a unique perspective on the professional side of the industry, appealing to anyone passionate about eSports and interested in breaking in (without having to become a pro player).
Panelists:
Lori Bajorek is president of the National Esports Association (NEA), through which she champions support for the wellness and academic success of esports athletes. She has pioneered a governance structure for esports in education -- with a proven concept aligning gaming and education that dates back more than a decade. Bajorek brings her esports programs to colleges across the country, often collaborating with Microsoft to educate academic leaders as to the benefits of esports in education. Bajorek also serves as president of ArtsROC, a not-for-profit enrichment program that focuses on alternative learning for K-12 students, and her pioneer status, advocacy, and expertise have resulted in her being a sought-after speaker at national conferences as well as with the media, including NPR.
Kai Mathey is Head of Partnerships at Andbox, an esports entertainment and media company. Andbox is home to New York's flagship pro teams in the world's premier leagues, Overwatch and Call of Duty. Prior to joining Andbox, she was COO of Tasting Table, a leading food media publisher, where she connected brands with influential foodie audiences through immersive content and experiential. She holds degrees from Washington University in St. Louis, Teachers College, Columbia University and The French Culinary Institute (now the International Culinary Center). Kai lives in Brooklyn with her family and can be found most weekends pushing swings and wishing her kids slept in later.
Collette Gangemi is the Head of Merchandising and Consumer Product at Andbox, an esports entertainment and media company Prior to her role with Andbox, Collette was the Head of Consumer Products for Red Bull where she built the consumer products business from the ground up, including all e-commerce, design, manufacturing, licensing and operational elements. Before Red Bull, Collette drove the strategy for footwear merchandising and design for DC Shoes, increasing profits from $77 Million to over $350 Million in six years. She also previously ran the adidas Originals apparel category in North America. Collette studied fashion merchandising at the Fashion Institute of Technology and liberal arts at Southern Vermont College.
