After a successful Intro to R session, we are pleased to invite you to another 2-day intensive data analysis workshop using R. The workshop is in collaboration with the Department of Statistics and Demography at UNESWA and R-Forwards.
Our special guest is Dr. Turner and she will be the lead facilitator for the sessions. Dr. Turner is the chair of Forwards and an Honorary Research Fellow of the Statistics Department at the University of Warwick, UK. Dr Turner will also be visiting a few other Southern African countries (including South Africa, Botswana, and Namibia) during the period. A CrowdFunding campaign is currently running to support her visit. You can also contribute via: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/forwards-southern-africa-project-2020# The funds raised will support the running of #rStats workshops/meetups and will be used to further support the African R community.
The sessions will cover exploratory data analysis using R, data wrangling, and data visualization. Participants will also be introduced to linear modeling and reproducible data analytics using R markdown.
Dr. Turner will also give a talk on Forwards, Africa R, and other support available on the broader R community.
We anticipate to host about 20 guests, and we kindly as that you RSVP early to help us plan efficiently. Kindly come with your laptop and install R software (https://cloud.r-project.org/) and R studio (https://rstudio.com/products/rstudio/download/) before the date. If you need any help installing the softwares, kindly contact any of the organizers before the date.
