I'm happy to announce that Dr. Aeron Buchanan, one of the leading thinkers of the Ethereum effort, will visit Zurich and give a speech at our Meetup.

The title of the speech is provocatively formulated as:

"How Ethereum will save society; or how to organize efficient resource allocation in an exponential world"

Aeron will talk about the fact that technology continues to provide tools to boost productivity, but there is one area that has received little attention: Organization.

Crowdsourcing is an example of an organizational tool, and has disrupted industries from hotels and cars to knowledge itself. However, it is just the tip of the iceberg.

We face the foreboding problem of exponential demand, and solving this problem needs an exponentially scalable solution. Custom-logic consensus platforms light the way to one such solution.

Background of the speaker:

Dr Aeron Buchanan is a researcher for the Ethereum Project (and it's ex-COO/CFO), specializing in mathematical modelling for the optimal functioning of the Ethereum Platform.

He has a strong academic background, with a career spanning economics research, computer vision, algorithm design and business strategy.

He studied Computer Vision, and Engineering and Computer Science at Oxford University, UK
