It is my great pleasure to announce a very interesting guest speaking at our meetup: Zac Cheah, CEO - Pundi X
Almost a decade after the start of the cryptocurrency revolution, less than 1% of the global population owns cryptocurrencies. This is due to a large part to the fact that most of the focus in the crypto-space has been on protocols and software so far. To reach mass user adoption in "unbanked" or "under-banked" countries however, smart devices are required that allow easy, seamless interaction with the crypto-world for the whole population. In his presentation, Zac will discuss ways of using physical smart devices and smart card to allow easy purchase and usage of cryptocurrencies at stores and cafes. He will present his vision of how usage of cryptocurrencies can serve as a catalyst to allow financial participation of 75% of the ASEAN population who does not have bank accounts, and give insights into the Pundi X smart device strategy for cryptocurrencies.
The Speaker:
Zac Cheah is former Chair at W3C’s HTML5 Chinese Group where he led 700 Engineers at standardization work. He was also Chief Standards Officer for Opera Browser China.
Pundi X consists of fintech veterans and have offices in Jakarta, ShenZhen and Singapore.
