Are you open-minded, healthy and interested in nutrition? Or do you suffer one or more symptoms of illness and frustrated at feeling older than your years? Or perhaps you simply seek alternatives to being dependent on a pill to feel better? Have you been down the road of trying diet after diet and nothing to show for it but apathy and, perhaps, less money? Is there an alternative to entering adulthood healthy and resigning to Metabolic Syndrome simply as a result of no one knowing what caused it? Would you like to know my own solution to reversing nearly a dozen medical symptoms ranging from tendonitis, arthritis, Type II diabetes, seasonal allergies, Mild Cognitive Impairment due to post-concussive syndrome, how I healthily ceased gaining over 5 pounds/week and lost over 60 pounds and seem to have found a definitive link between food additives, skin blemishes and other maladies? I wrote a book about my own health discoveries and learned far more than I bargained for in trying to understand that which affected me and why. This is a group whereas if you have any personal interest in nutrition, wellness and vitality be it for yourself, your children or family - no matter your age - I believe that not only that I may be of help to others, but that you may carry that knowledge and help cease our society's decline into a collective of 'epidemic of disease'. I would love to have the opportunity to meet with others and discuss how my experience and what I learned may benefit others. The title of my book: The Hamburger and Pizza Diet, or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Real Food. I look forward to meeting you all.
Update: My health threw me a curveball in the fall, prompting a significant rewrite of the book. Not only did I encounter a range of impaired health symptoms after incredible health recovery over the prior year but I also reversed those 'new' symptoms as well, realizing that I had been ignorantly masking a medical condition I'd been afflicted with for almost 40 years. Most significantly, my seasonal allergies rebounded in the winter and now I'm 100% sure they're CURED (tree pollen season is not affecting me at ALL). Rather than being ignorantly-named after one phase of my own lifestyle change, the book is now retitled, my being the provenance of the new title, "You're Sick & Fat Because You're Ignorant, or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Real Food."
Despite my own curveball, the label "Real-foodies" still applies to members in this group.
By the way, the Hamburger & Pizza Diet, though cliche' at this point, was a factual part of my lifestyle change which resulted in losing 40 pounds. Though I was ignorant of the real cause of my >50lb weight gain at the time, it launched my health recovery and remains a valid part of the upcoming discussion.
