Introduction to Test-driven development (in Javascript)

Practical TDD workshop: After the high-level theory you will implement a piece of code using the test-first approach. TDD for beginners in JavaScript.

Theory: Overview of everything you need to know about test automation. What is up with all those pyramids? Why is it important? Fun? What skills and tools do I need? But also the big picture! I am going to share the most important parts I have learned in my 8 years of Agile software development when it comes to test automation. With JavaScript examples where possible.

Prerequisites:

• Basic programming knowledge (if/then/else, variables and functions)

• Bring a laptop

• Install a Text editor (or IDE, I will be using the free Microsoft Visual Studio Code (https://code.visualstudio.com/) (works on Mac, Windows and Linux))

• Install a recent version of Node.JS (https://nodejs.org/)

• Install a recent version of Git (https://git-scm.com/)

About the location:

We will have this great Meetup in the headquarters of Synaix, one of Aachen's hidden champions for IT operations and scalable infrastructures. It is located very close to Toledoring, and easily reachable by car. The Busstop "Süsterau" is directly located near the Süsterfeldstraße.
