What we're about

Are you looking for speaking practice in English or French with native speakers ?
Are you new to London ?
Would you like to meet new people ?
Then EuroClub French-English exchanges could be perfect for you.
EuroClub has been organising French-English language exchanges in London since 2005. We speak French from 7pm until just after 8pm and then in English so that there is plenty of time for each language.
It's a great opportunity to develop your spoken language skills in French or English through conversation with native speakers in friendly groups in a pleasant location. You can also contribute by helping others with your native language. We meet every Thursday evening from 7pm in Central London. Usually we meet in the Farringdon/Clerkenwell area where we have a reserved room upstairs in a lovely pub. The language exchange meetings are not classes though our members are supportive and helpful so that you can feel comfortable in gaining more experience in speaking and listening. They are not suitable for complete beginners as you will speak at a conversational level (any queries to david@euroclub.co.uk)
We also provide tutored classes on other days in French and English with qualified, experienced teachers in a relaxed environment. However at present we do not have complete beginners classes. EuroClub also organises english conversation evenings and language exchanges in Spanish-English , Italian-English and German-English so that members have access to a variety of opportunities for speaking practice with native speakers.

We also organise walks, outings, visits to museums etc. so that members can take part in a variety of activities together and enjoy London. We are non-profit making and the club is run by its members for their own benefit.
It is free to come and try a meeting before joining. Six months' membership costs only £12 if you are not working or £20 if you are working. We can sometimes negotiate a reduced cost for someone who is in London for a short stay. It is free to come and try a meeting before joining.
Though we have a Club membership we are open in our approach and our Facebook group is at https://www.facebook....

Leon cafe/restaurant

Hi Everyone, You are invited to the EuroClub French-English language exchange on Thursday 21 February from 7.15 pm at Leon café 2, Brunswick Centre, Bloomsbury, London WC1N 1AY. The café is to the right of Russell Square station, almost opposite, on Bernard Street, as you enter the Brunswick Centre . We should be at the back of the café around the corner. We speak French then English . Guaranteed concentrated practise ( and help with the language) with native speakers ! Please buy a drink/or food on arrival ! . ( You need to be reasonably comfortable talking in french for this event as we talk for about an hour in each language. Not suitable for beginners) Ring[masked] if you cannot find the group or if you need any help. (ps as the cafe closes soon after 9pm we may have to finish a little earlier than normal , of course you're welcome to arrive earlier, I will be there from 645 pm !) regards, David We organise language exchange meetings for those who want to practise speaking a language and because we always have at least 1 hour at each meeting devoted to speaking only in eg french, spanish, Italian, english or german you will have concentrated practice and support from native speakers (although the conversation meetings are not suitable for complete beginners) We also have professionally tutored classes (but currently there are no classes for complete beginners) . Currently, for example, we have a tutored french class every 2 weeks on Mondays around intermediate level, and a tutored english class every 2 weeks on Wednesdays for english learners who have a level between intermediate and advanced. We are probably unique in having such a range of activities in one group. Its great for meeting people as well and seeing London, as we organise visits ,walks and other social events. It is free to try an event. We are non profit making but we do need money to support our activities (room hire, paying teachers, web fees, publicity , printing etc) . We keep fees at the minimum level possible. To join EuroClub for 6 mths is £12 if not working (£20 if working). If you are member all language exchanges, visits, walks etc are then free for 6 months and you will be able to come to tutored language classes costing £3 each. Our walks and visits are free . I can be emailed at [masked] if you have questions or would like more information.
