Details
Hi Everyone ,
Sunday 24 November
EuroClub Visit to Greenwich and conversation in nice pub. !
We can visit part of Greenwich's many attractions this Sunday. It is due to be dry and cold but the majority of the time we should be indoors so the weather should not be too important.
There will be some flexibility as to what we see, but we will visit the Maritime Museum and we can see, for example the new section Nelson, Navy, Nation (http://www.rmg.co.uk/whats-on/exhibitions/nelson-navy-nation/)and the Stubbs painting of a Kongouro (Kangaroo) and Dingo thought to be the first depictions of Australian animals in Western Art, recently bought for a large sum. We can also see the Cutty Sark, the beautiful Tea Clipper near the riverside. We will also go to the beautiful Queens Gallery .
Then we will go to a very nice pub in the area for conversation and a social end to the afternoon ! We will only visit free exhibitions today!
Meet 1.30 pm at Cutty Sark DLR station . Cutty Sark can be reached by DLR trains from Bank or Tower Gateway -direction Lewisham or DLR from Canary Wharf (Jubilee Line). If changing at Canary wharf there is a 5 minute walk betwen the DLR and Jubilee Line stations.
Please check your local rail service eg through the TFL website in case of any closures on Sunday , to avoid unexpected problems.
best wishes,
David
