Welcome to our March monthly Eventprofs London meetup!

We are so excited to welcome 3 fantastic speakers to our meetup this month: Carla Gaggini and Nicole Pereira run high profile and highly successful conferences and meetups at Skills Matter. They will discuss how to drive diversity at events.

Sam Hepburn is one of the most well-connected tech community managers in London with an impressive track-record in building communities through events for branding and talent attraction and retention.

Please come along to gain new insights and ideas for your own events, make new connections and meet other event professionals.

There will be some drinks and nibbles provided plus we will enjoy some drinks at CodeNode's Spacebar afterwards to continue the conversations.

This month we will be hosted at the fantastic tech event space CodeNode - a massive thank you to Christian and the venue team for their support.

If you are involved in events and want to learn new ideas or are new to organising events then do come along. Not only is it a great way to gain new skills but its also a perfect place to look for event talent, tools and suppliers.

Register as soon as possible to avoid disappointment, as numbers are limited. We look forward to seeing you all on March 21st!

Carla Gaggini & Nicole Pereira - “Living the Dream” - Diversity in Events

The objective to feature tech experts from diverse backgrounds in conferences and meet-ups has been a long-standing struggle. And yet, in the last few years, the tech community and its champions have risen to the challenge, making your job as Event Manager much easier.

During this talk, Carla and Nicole will share their ongoing journey into establishing a new normal in the ever-changing tech environment, where diversity in events isn’t something to fight for and chase after, but is indeed the status quo of the tech community.

Rather than encouraging a blind race to woo overbooked diverse speakers and hunting a seemingly unicorn dream, this talk will help you discover the new normal and how you can help encourage the continued growth of diversity in your events and in the industry as a whole.

Sam Hepburn - Using the power of events to recruit, upskill and retain talent: There are around 800,000 IT jobs in the UK unfilled due to a skills shortage. This means that candidates with the right skills are a hot commodity. Companies face an enormous challenge when trying to attract the right candidates and holding onto them is an even greater one.

But how? In this session, we’ll explore all you need to know about how to leverage the power of face-to-face events to secure top talent and how to best utilise these events to upskill and retain your current team.

About Sam:
Sam has spent the past 7 years in London becoming a well-known face of the tech startup scene. She works with a variety of organisations within London and now further afield in the UK and Poland building some of the largest tech communities in the world. Her main aim is to create environments for individuals to feel welcome and for communities to flourish. When she's not doing that, she works with companies to develop their employer brand and culture. She occasionally sleeps :)

Everything she is passionate about involves people!
