As usual, our doors open at 5:30 pm for a social time in French (or not in French).Along Came Love (French: Le Temps d'aimer) is a 2023 Belgian-French drama film directed by Katell Quillévéré.[1] It stars Anaïs Demoustier and Vincent Lacoste.
Madeleine, a working-class waitress, and François, a wealthy intellectual, meet in the years immediately following World War II and build a fragile but loving lifetime relationship even though each is carrying personal secrets: Madeleine's young son Daniel was conceived in a casual relationship with a German soldier, which left her branded as a "collabo" and exiled from her home community; while François is bisexual, and was previously in a relationship with a man

Sunday, August 24th, meet at VFW Park in Royal Oak at 2pm for a (free) outdoor game time and some French chatting with fellow French learners and native.
Petanque game is a French outdoor bowling game enjoyed by many French Families.
Come join us for a fun petanque time, all levels and ages are welcome (kids love that game, rules are easy to learn... just throw the metal ball the closest to the small wooden one and you get points!). Ball game (les boules) will be provided.
Enjoy the cultural outdoor experience and practice your French conversation in a relaxed setting!

New IN-PERSON French conversations on Wednesdays are back!
Join the group “French Practice” at the AFD/FIM! An excellent way to practice your French skills in a laid back manner and a great opportunity to meet people!
Meet Wednesday at 6PM for one hour and a half in a French environment with like-minded students and a native speaker facilitator. Attendees need to have if possible a B1 level at least (ask us if you are unsure of your level! afd@afdetroit.org)
Free for members, $5 for non-members (join here), level B1 and above recommended.
