• What we'll do
There’s a lot of energy in cyber security right now, with plenty of variation between good teams and bad teams, good vendors and bad vendors. Each organization has something to share with others, yet too often we aren’t collaborating on best practices, quick wins, or innovative approaches. As a security geek, entrepreneur, and executive, I’ve seen all flavors of security teams from around the world and had the fortunate experience of having discussions with many great ones on what was working and what wasn’t. We’ll explore some of these lessons learned and give practitioners tips for improving their security programs while also providing some guidance to vendors and re-sellers.

Ben Johnson is co-founder and CTO of Obsidian Security, a stealth startup based in Southern California. Prior to Obsidian, Ben co-founded and was CTO of Carbon Black, a next-generation endpoint security leader, after working in cyber for NSA and spending seven years in the intelligence community. Ben is on the boards of several startups and also taught “Entrepreneurship in Technology” at the University of Chicago. He enjoys entrepreneurship, technology, and security, is passionate about arming information security professions with intelligence and technology, and enjoys networking with security professionals.
