Change is awesome!

In an effort to “spice” things up after 20 years of hosting Rondy’s, EOE wanted to come up with a new canyoneering event. One with skill focused intent, that is super fun and can be affordable to all. An event that is technically challenging to the point of encouraging the development of new canyoneering strategies and techniques to continue guiding us forward, together. Here is our first idea we hope can achieve these goals. It has just the right amount of “spice” for us and hopefully for you too.

We are holding this event in late August to coincide with the calendar end of the Southwest’s Monsoon season, giving us long-warm days and potentially interesting water conditions. But stay tuned regarding canyon conditions We plan to let a few of our favorite Keeper canyons out of the bag for this Fest as well as make sure the classics are on the list. Everyone can bring their PH tools/toys and enjoy “working” in these endearing and challenging canyon obstacles with like-minded adventurers. Saturday evening there will be the first ever Pot Shot “bocce” competition, focused on accuracy and creativity, solo and two person teams. There will also be a contest for greatest distance thrown and one “impossible toss” for guests to attempt. Nice prizes plus the World’s first “Pot Shot Champion” titles will be on the line! Practice-practice!!

To minimize our impact and keep the gathering focused, there will be a 45-person limit. Anyone interested in contributing by leading canyons, organizing meals, designing us a memorable t-shirt or assisting in some other cool way, please don’t hesitate to ask. Your help and experience is definitely needed and will be greatly appreciated. Please send me an email to get involved. rick@excursionsofescalante.com

Stay tuned and keep it “spicy” my canyon friends,
Rick Green
