What we're about

This group is for the discussion of books by existential and phenomenological thinkers. The writings of Heidegger, Kierkegaard, Camus, Sartre, Ricoeur, Yalom, Levinas, Nietzsche, Merleau-Ponty, and many others will be explored. The goal is to dive into these works in small excerpts (10-20 pages), and pull out what strikes each of us most, offering it up for thoughtful discussion. Ultimately, what makes these writers interesting is their capacity to enrich our experience of ourselves, others, and the world. To participate in this group, all that is needed is a healthy dose of curiosity, listening skills, and an interest in collaborative/exploratory thinking. Strong opinions are welcome as long as their balanced with an appreciation for differences.
