What we're about

This is a group for all the young at heart people who want to get together, meet new friends and join in the many activities that Exmouth has to offer. For example, quizzing, walking, water-sports, dining, dancing, bowling, cinema, jazz nights, ... open to suggestions. Singles, Couples, Half a Couple, just come along and you will be welcome. The group has been running for two years. It is your opportunity to enjoy the company of others, make new friends and have a good time. We are a very friendly bunch. We don't charge a fee but if you sign up please attend an event otherwise your membership will expire after 6 months., don't be nervous... we all had a first time. Please put your photograph on your profile to enable others to recognise you. I am always looking for event organisers so if you have a good idea for an event let me know and you can organise.

East Hill Strips and The Red Lion

Location visible to members

Join me for a 12 km (7.5 mile) walk. Doggies welcome. Starting at 1045 on the beautiful East Hill Ridge, walking through the woodlands and streams of Core Copse. Taking lanes with fords, crossing countryside paths as we make our way into Sidbury for a drink at the Red Lion. We then follow the East Devon Way up to White Cross and follow the East Hill Strips and Big Wood and some magnificent views to return to where we have parked our cars. Please bring a packed lunch as The Red Lion are not serving food on bank holiday Monday. There are ups and downs, some overgrown places, and some wet places. Easiest drive because lanes are so narrow is to take A3052 to Sidford turn on to the A375 at The Rising Sun, turn left towards Ottery St. Mary at the Hare and Hounds and then take a left turn about I mile on, towards White Cross. At the first junction ( unmade road cars can be parked along here). See photo of OS map.

Short walk from Otterton

Otterton Mill

5.5 mile walk north up the River Otter, then to High Peak via an overgrown, uneven track which is wet in places. If it has been raining it would advisable to wear waterproof boots with good ankle support. Steep track down to Ladram Bay then return to Otterton. Option of tea stop at the end. There is parking up Maunders Hill on the right up the village, please don’t park in the Mill
