How do you build empathy in difficult to access contexts? Come to our inaugural Meetup to hear and discuss! The format will be a series of vignettes, followed by active discussion. We will hear from:

• Christina Bosch, an Instructional Designer and Research Associate at CAST, on building empathy for incarcerated youth and the ecosystem of other folks around which those learners depend; and

• Christine Zanchi, Director of Student Innovation at Curriculum Associates, on the challenges of shedding adult assumptions in order to understand and build for learners in the k-2 classroom of today.

We’ll follow this with some consideration around the domain of Experience Design for Learning. And, we’ll cap off the evening by weighing topics for future Meetups.

There will be light snacks and coffee available at the Meetup. There is also food for purchase in the cafe and Gather restaurant, both also located at District Hall.
Afterwards, join us for a brew at Gather (sorry, this part of the evening is not yet sponsored!).

We look forward to seeing you, and please spread the word! The hashtag for the meetup is #edUX.
