Dragonfly and Macroinvertebrate Survey Bonanza!
Details
Grab a net and let's get to it! Catch dragonflies in flight and dip nets into the pond to discover macroinvertebrates - small animals living in the water. Learn about these amazing creatures and what they can tell us about our water quality through hands-on activities, crafts, photography, and more. We'll have activities for youth, teens, and adults.
Trout Brook Nature Sanctuary is one of Saint Paul's newest parks. The site is currently being restored to native plant communities and has several water quality improvement features. What wildlife is surviving and thriving in our park? Help us find out!
Join MN Dragonfly Society to survey adult dragonflies and Capitol Region Watershed District to survey aquatic macroinvertebrates. Experts from each organization will help you identify what you've caught and add your find to their research.
This event has activities for all ages and knowledge levels.
