We run events focused on learning, sharing and growing in tech versus recruitment events. As such we ask that recruiters respect our members and our venue sponsors.

**Our goals**

• To feature in-depth presentations on technical topics by new speakers to experienced software developers, designers, product owners, and others in the tech industry.

• To help develop the diversity of tech speakers and leaders in Toronto by providing training and mentorship in public speaking on technical topics to all our speakers.

Each month ExploreTech will feature local speakers – at least half being women – covering diverse technical topics ranging from UI/UX to backend to devOps to data.

> Speakers Kazushige Tominaga: What I've been doing to improve Developer Productivity Description: I've worked at small teams, it means besides working mostly as a backend developer, I've kept trying to improve developer productivity of the team. In this talk, I'd like to talk about what I did and I'm doing in teams of different stages. I'm going to talk about * Deploy automation * Parallelize tests to improve testing time * Remove time-bomb implementation in a legacy product via techniques of continuous delivery * Introduce automated testing CI workflow into the team Mary Franks: Be Brave and Start Small: Lessons in Running an App on GKE Description: Not having a dedicated QA or SRE on the squad presents both challenges and learning opportunities. Managing our own testing and infrastructure has taught us all valuable lessons, and I've found that SRE work is like any other dev work: best achieved in small incremental changes. > Schedule 6.30pm - Doors open, grab food & say hello 7:00pm - Doors close & presentations starts 8.00pm - Presentations end 8.30pm - Doors close > Goals ExploreTech Toronto is about exploring and celebrating diversity in the tech industry - in the technology we use, the roles and people.
