EC Winter Skills and Snowholing Course: 21-23 Feb 2014 FULLY BOOKED

Learn the skills for safer travel in the mountains during winter. Sleep in a snowhole overnight.

This course runs over three days and is designed to give you the skills needed for the winter environment. Our fully qualified and experienced winter mountain leaders will run the course to your needs, giving plenty of time to practice and learn new skills. What's covered:

Ice axe skills

Crampon skills

Avalanche awareness

Snowholing

Winter navigation

Movement skills

Route choice

Self arrest

We will be based in the high mountains of Scotland around Aviemore. Our instructors have been teaching winter skills in Scotland for years - so you will be in safe and competent hands.

You will need some experience of basic hiking

Travel: Currently there are great offers on flights to Scotland from Bristol. If you want to travel in style, catch the overnight sleeper train from London to Aviemore direct (£140+ rtn although you can get Bargain Berths for £90 for 2 people sharing, none available for those dates yet but keeping an eye on it...). Cost is £250.00 per person and includes:

• All instruction for 3 days by experienced mountain instructors in small groups

• 2 nights accommodation (incl one night in a snowhole)
