Life is a desperate attempt to hold on to something that you know is not containable. My photography allows me to hold on to something precious.
Henri Cartier Bresson said it best; "Photographers deal in things which are continually vanishing and when they have vanished there is no contrivance on earth which can make them come back again. " Welcome, and thank you for visiting our meetup site.
This meet up group is geared from beginner to the advanced photographer,so all types of cameras are welcome and is open to all age groups.
Everyone in this group has something to offer as a teacher. But more importantly, everyone in this group has a keen interest in learning....
Let's explore the Lancaster Area country side. We will start by heading up to the Strasburg Railroad where people can see the railroad or the railroad museum if interested, but then we will just go exploring in nearby Bird-in-Hand and Ronks and other little towns. The Railroad does cost to ride the train, about $16. We will probably grab food somewhere while we are out. End time is flexible. If you have any particular places you know you want to go to please let me know.
We can meet at my house at 1:45 and car pool from there.
As winter approaches there is perhaps less opportunity to be outside shooting great landscapes, but more chances to do some fun shooting in the dark and nighttime. We are going to spend the next few weeks going through a 3 part series on lightpainting by one of my favorite instructors. Each week will build on the next and will hopefully push our skills beyond what we have done before.
So for this meetup, bring your camera, tripod, laptop, a flashlight or two, and dress in dark clothes. You may also want to bring an off camera flash if you have it and/or colored gels if you have any.
We will start out watching some video, then practice some shooting. As long as it is not raining we will spend part of the time outside so dress for trapesing around in the yard after dark.
