This group is dedicated to learn and practice Mindfulness meditation. Mindfulness is a science-based way of being and has been proven to help you manage stress and anxiety and improve health and well-being. Mindfulness is being aware of the present moment so we can see things as they are ( sometimes also known as Insight or Vipassana meditation). Mindfulness is not associated with any religion and can be practiced by anyone.
We will have weekly meditation meetups guided by Juan Jose Reyes M.D.. Juan is the founder of Mindstay, a company that provides mindfulness programs to health and wellness professionals. He is a Board Certified physician and is currently pursuing a Masters in Integrative Medicine at George Washington University. He is a qualified Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher by the UCSD Mindfulness Professional Training Institute and also trained by the University of Massachusstes Center for Mindfulness in Healthcare, Medicine and Society founded by Jon Kabat-Zinn. He has been practicing meditation since 2006 after completing a ten day Vipassana retreat with the teachings of SN Goenka.
This meetups are for beginners and for seasoned meditators. We will always have time to answer questions and discuss challenges of our meditation practice.
